January 26 - dfree® Devotions for Financial Freedom

Verse
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians; I broke the vars of your yoke and enabled you to walk with heads held high. Leviticus 26:13 NIV

Thought
Everyone has a story. And every story has some low points and some high points. We generally include the high points on our resumes. But the truth is that the low points really define who we are. The low points reveal how determined we have been to achieve something in our lives. the low points depict how much pain we have endured to get where we are. The low points represent the times when we could have given up. Everyone has had at least one low point in their life.

If we would imagine our low point as having been named Egypt, then we can identify more easily how we got from our low point to our high point - from our failure to our graduation, from our defeat to our victory, from our predicament to our plateau. We did not get their on our own strength or by ourselves. It was God who gave us the extra something that we needed to get from our low point to our high point - God delivered us from our Egypt.

And now God reminds us that God did it so we could walk with "heads held high." Don't be embarrassed by your low points - don't be ashamed of your low points - and don't be afraid of the low points. Hold your head high - be confident about your future - be proud of what you have accomplished already. And even if you hit another low point, the same God that brought you out last time will bring you out next time. Lift up your head and hold it high! That is exactly what God brought you out to do.

Prayer
"God, thank you for getting me past my low points. help me to keep my head held high. Amen"
