Tragedy can be made less tragic

I had a relative who was killed by an act of violence committed by someone that she knew. What made that tragedy even more tragic was that she had no life insurance and therefore had nothing to leave for her three children. In fact we had to take a collection to pay for her funeral.

I have learned that tragedy is less tragic when we are prepared for things that happen. The law requires that we have auto insurance. Starting next year we will have to buy health insurance. But there are so many other areas of our lives that need to be protected by insurance.

After we get out of debt and begin to pursue true economic empowerment, we cannot ignore the need to be properly insured. Take a few minutes and listen to what I have learned about being prepared for things that happen in life.
